Eli was founded in 1991 in a fraternity house in New Haven, Connecticut. No frills from day one: the conference room in the Durham headquarters still looks like it came from a fraternity house - our founder's beat up old desk is still there. Eli started with the big, hairy, audacious goal that we could outdo competition at the home care newsletter game. Our first product, Home Care Week, still exists today, 19 years later.
We are passionate about creating products that engage readers and users with unique interests. Eli and its affiliates serve customers ranging from baseball card collectors to medical coders. We provide a broad range of media for each interest group we serve, including magazines, newsletters, online communities, subscription web sites, e-commerce solutions, workflow software, certifications, training, seminars, conferences, and webinars.
Eli and its affiliates are stable companies not afraid to take hard decisions that let us survive and thrive during economic downturns. Our private ownership helps us to take long-term view of the situation and a Built to last vs. built to flip philosophy.
